Ivory-White Honey Pourer
22K Gold Floral Filigree & Handle
A very pretty, unusual white and gold honey (or syrup) pourer, with thickly gold-covered handle and gold floral design, that I believe is from Pioneer Pottery (East Liverpool, Ohio, mid-1930s until about 1958, according to Lehner's Encyclopedia of US Pottery Marks). The globe shaped base is covered in a 22K gold flower design, and the gold trim on the handle continues around the rim.
This nicely shaped ewer measures 5-3/8 inches high and about 4 inches wide from tip to handle. It is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. The gold trim is very intact and solid, with very little wear on the handle. (I thought there was some staining or browned crazing on the base of the handle, but upon close inspection, I discovered it was dirt, which I washed off!)
This vintage piece of American pottery is marked "Guaranteed 22 K Gold U.S.A." Price: $10.00. |
