Minton
China A wonderfully shaped footed cream soup bowl from Minton China, with thick gold trim on the pointy handles and rim, around the inside and outside, and a thick yellow band with a gold key (chi) design. The outside body is white, and the inside is cream and white. The piece is in excellent condition, with no signs of use or wear (no flakes, crazing, or fleabites). The gold trim is solid, as is the yellow border. The bowl measures 4.5 inches wide across the center of the rim, 5.75 inches wide across the handles, and it sits 2 inches high. The piece is clearly marked with a red crown and globe in a wreath, "Mintons / Est. 1793 / England." I believe this mark was used ca. 1912 to 1950. There are also brown handwritten numbers and marks (5.149 " ?), which I assume are decorator marks. Price: $25.00.
Cauldon Cream
Soup Bowl A brilliant small double-handled bowl made by Cauldon China, one of the great English potteries operating out of Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. It has a beautiful green and gold trim on the inside and outside rim, and colorful floral bouquets on four sides. The handles, rim, and foot are thickly trimmed in gold, which is solid and intact. This piece measures 5-7/8 inches wide across the handles, 3-7/8 inches wide at the rim, and 1-7/8 inches high at the rim. It is in excellent condition, with no signs of use or wear (no chips, cracks, or crazing, no utensil marks). This lovely piece is marked "Cauldon England," which is shown in the Kovels' guide (page 166-N) as the mark in use from 1905-1920. There is also a decorator's hand-written number L482. Price: $25.00.
H&K Hollinshead & Kirkham A lovely small creamer or little pitcher from H&K (Hollinshead & Kirkham), on an ivory body with a hand-decorated pattern that suggests pink roses with yellow centers and green leaves; the pink areas are lightly embossed. A thin dark green trim on the rim and a light green wash on the handle complete the very pretty design. This very pretty piece measures 3 inches high and almost 4.5 inches from spout tip to handle edge. It is in good condition, with no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines, or wear marks. There is one pinpoint-size (tiny) fleabite or glaze pop on the green trim, shown in the photo with an orange arrow. The piece has the green Unicorn mark along with "Made in / England / H&K / Tunstall." I believe this mark dates to 1933-42. Price: $15.00.
Pitcairns

It is marked on the bottom "Porcellaine Royale / Pitcairns Limited / Tunstall England /MYRA 7." Price: $12.00.
Lovely “Renown” Cup
from Royal Staffordshire Pottery, This lovely cup Royal Staffordshire is a true work of art. The cup is 3.75 inches wide at the rim, 1.75 inches at the base, and the handle adds another inch. It is decorated around the rim with two bands of gold trim, separated with a blue band of stylized flowers. The top (rim) gold is only about 50% present; the second band is solid. Below the rim is a blue / green floral design called "swag & band" (according to replacements.com, item #86581), from pattern 2228. It shows dark pink and dark yellow roses, with lightblue and light green decorations in a repeating motif. This particular version is called "Renown Blue Green." On the inside base is a pink rose, and another is on the right-inside fromthe handle (see photos below). The cup is in excellent condition, with no cracks, hairlines, or crazing. The colors and detail are rich inside and out. The bottom of the cup is marked with what appears to be the number 10, then "Renown" / Royal Staffordshire Pottery / Burslem / England / (and what appears to be) F. Below that is a dark pink number that MIGHT be 1225 and a 2 or an initial; it seems to be hand-written. Price: $9.00.
