Limoges A round vegetable bowl from American Limoges (Sebring, Ohio, 1900-1955), in a pattern called "Currier & Ives" on the Triumph shape. This very elegant pattern features a wide gray ribbed border with a central pattern of a farm scene in winter. It measures 8.75-inches wide and 2.5 inches high (see replacements.com pattern CURRIER & IVES (SMOOTH, GRAY), described as "Triumph, smooth, gray, ribbed rim, no trim"). This very elegant bowl is in very good to excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks or crazing, and the gray border and design are very intact. There are no signs of utensil marks, and the piece actually appears to be unused. The bowl has a mark for "Ovington's Fifth Avenue / Currier & Ives / Grey, N.Y." There is also a pice number 44. Price: $25.00. |
