China Two very neat vintage restaurantware dinner plates from Shenango (RimRol WelRoc). Each thick, heavy plate measures 10-3/8 inches wide at the rim. The rim is an intense sky blue, with elaborate glod trim with swags, leaves, an dflowers. The white interior has a gold crest with shield, lion, fleur-de-lis, and the words "Tres Bon." I have not been able to figure out where they were used (but they strike me as New Orleans, although I have no evidence of that!). These vintage plates are in very good condition. There are no cracks, chips, flakes, crazing, or hairlines. There are few utensil marks (almost none on one plate) or other signs of use. The bottom is stamped with "Shenango China U.S.A. / RimRol WelRoc" along with the number Q26, which I believe is the date code for 1967. Price: $15.00. Shenango
Restaurant Ware: A very solid salad or small luncheon plate from Shenango China's restaurant ware line. It has a hard-fired white glaze, with a thick outer brown border of laurel leaves intersecting a key (chi) pattern. (See replacements.com pattern 117007.) This piece is in good condition for restaurant ware. There are no cracks, chips, flakes, crazing, or hairlines, but there are heavy utensil marks. The plate measures 8.25 inches wide across the rim. The bottom is marked with the green Indian logo and the mark: "Shenango China / New Castle, PA. U.S.A. / 2-3." Price: $7.50
